Hello everybody, I'm going to be in Ft. Myers from July 3rd - July 9th visiting family and I was wondering if there's any belly dance related events, shows, shops, or anything else in the area I can geek out on during this time. I appreciate the info. :-)

Tue, July 1, 2008 - 8:37 AMWell, there's intermediate/beginner classes happening Monday evening on the 7th in Cape Coral, which is minutes away from Fort Myers. There's also a little boutique inside the studio that sells DVD's, skirts (both tribal and cab styles), and kuchi.
There may be something else going on around that time too. I'll investigate and let you know. -

Tue, July 1, 2008 - 9:39 AMThe studio is called Rhythm In Motion, they do ballroom dance as well as the belly dance class. I go there as well so if you come by then you can meet me and be subsequently terrified of my weirdness. ;)
The instructors' name is Sherry Coffey. The intermediate class has been focusing on choreography in preparation for our semi-annual hafla July 27. I don't know what the beginner's class has but that might be worth checking out. I think there's another instructor in the area that I've been meaning to check out so I'll let you know about that as well. -

Wed, July 2, 2008 - 6:53 AMhaha, i'm a bit weird myself, so i doubt i'd be terrified. thanks for the info! i'll have to see what happens when i get there (most of the time i'll be babysitting my niece and nephew), but hopefully i'll make it out to the studio, to at the very least look at the pretty stuff to buy. :-) some new bellydance goodies would be far better souveniers than shells and starfish. ;-D
